In March of this year, we released our brand new control panel.
A lot of you have already made use of it and have subsequently noticed that instead of using your customer reference number, you are now required to use your primary e-mail address to log in.
You may be wondering why we created this new panel, and what benefits it has. After all, we are all creatures of habit; why change something that works just fine?
Well, there are actually a couple of reasons for this! Allow us to elaborate.
The new control panel serves to integrate all PCextreme services under one convenient umbrella, where previously they were separated by two different panels.
On top of that, you can now access all of your separate accounts with one e-mail address.
Many of our users have requested the feature to delegate duties to different members. Therefore, we have developed the Roles system; it allows the primary user to designate others as a technical- or financial contact; this means that you can now grant your web developer access to your account, for instance, and handle all the technical aspects of your products. You could also choose to add a financial contact to your account, to handle all the administrative duties. All of these members have their very own login credentials which ensures you no longer have to share yours with any other parties.
These users, as the term roles suggests, have specific access to your account; a technical contact is allowed to alter DNS records and MySQL settings, for example, but can not change any personal details. A financial contact may not alter any technical aspects of your products, but is allowed to view your invoices, set up recurring payments or alter your billing details. Primary users always have full control over the roles system; if a member no longer works for your company, for instance, you can just delete the user from your account.
But there is more!
We have also increased the variety of payment methods such as adding creditcard support and SEPA authorization.
Alternatively, you can transfer any amount of credit to the brand new wallet system. If any credit is present in your wallet, it will be used to pay your invoices without charging your creditcard or bank account. We have also made it far easier to get an overview of your current and past invoices, or even download them for your own personal administration.
Extra layers of security have also been added to the control panel by adding a Two Factor Authentication option as well as the ability to control browser sessions.
Another key aspect of our new panel is the fact that it is future-proof. Technology is endlessly evolving, and new services are in development even as we speak. Our new panel allows us to implement any future products quite easily, as well as integrate them with our current offerings.
We are very proud of our new panel, and although there have been some hiccups throughout the launch period (which are unfortunately inevitable with any big new launch), we are confident it will make managing all of your PCextreme services a lot more streamlined.
